OP05-119 Luffy ran 152.2% in seven days, five promos gave back a third of their value, and every sealed box on our EV board still prints below 1.
The week OP05-119 went vertical
One card did the heavy lifting. Monkey.D.Luffy (119) closed the week at $24.41 after a 152.2% seven-day move, the largest single advance anywhere on our board and the only gainer in the top five that more than doubled. The chart above shows the shape: flat, then a near vertical leg with no digestion yet.
> $24.41 · where OP05-119 Luffy landed after a 152.2% week
The rest of the tape was less friendly. Five cards shed more than 32% over the same seven days, and four of the five top losers carry a Luffy or a promo stamp. That split, one Luffy screaming up while a shelf of other Luffys unwinds, is the defining feature of the week.
Gainers
Note the clustering around 23% at the bottom of that list. Vivi, Bonney and the OP10 Law parallel all moved within half a point of each other, which usually means broad bid-side pressure rather than one thin listing getting cleared. Bonney is also the most expensive thing in the gainer column at $210.10, so that advance represents real dollars moving, not a cheap card percentage illusion.
Losers
Shirahoshi (CS 26-27 Event Pack Finalist Ver.) was the worst of it, down 38.9% to $39.34. Event-pack finalist cards tend to price off scarcity assumptions that get revised the moment supply becomes legible, and this one revised hard.
Monkey.D.Luffy (Premium Card Collection -Flame-Flame Fruit Coliseum Edition-) fell 36.2% to $21.08, and Monkey.D.Luffy (OP16 Release Event Winner) gave up 32.5% to $89.96. Two Luffy promos losing roughly a third in a week while an OP05 Luffy doubles is a reminder that the character tag is not the asset. The third name worth flagging is Rocks.D.Xebec (039) (Alternate Art), down 33.1% to $46.18, the only recent-set alt art in the loser column.
Boxes
OP11 leads the EV board at a 0.76 ratio, with a $566.03 box market against $430 of modeled pull value. OP15 sits right behind at 0.75, $255.04 versus $191, and OP14 comes in at 0.68 on a $268.44 box. PRB02 prints 0.66 and OP13 rounds out the leaders at 0.61.
Every ratio on that list is below 1, and that is structural, not a market failure. The ratio is modeled expected singles value divided by what the sealed box costs, so a 0.76 means the average box returns about three quarters of its price in cards. Sealed product is priced to lose to its own contents; the ranking tells you which sets lose least. Full board lives on the EV page.
Whale watch
Our radar flagged five seaking-grade moves, the top severity tier. Emporio.Ivankov at $48.11 appears on both the gainer list and the whale list, which is the cleanest possible signal that the 56.2% advance came from abnormal volume rather than drift. Charlotte Flampe (SP) ran 45.8% to $49.14 without surfacing in the top five gainers at all.
On the other side, Trafalgar Law (Offline Regional 2023) [Finalist] dropped 24.1% to $51.12 and DON!! Card (Elbaph Luffy) fell 23.1% to $80.01. Both are promo-tier items, consistent with where the week's selling concentrated. The radar also logged the OP05 Luffy at 154.5%, a touch above the gainer-table reading, which is normal given the two feeds sample at different cutoffs.
The read
The promo complex did the losing and modern singles did the winning, with OP05 the one older set punching through on both the gainer and whale lists. Nothing in the data points to a single catalyst; it reads as a rotation out of event-exclusive paper and into cards with current table relevance. Watch whether OP05-119 holds its new handle or fills the gap the chart just opened.
