A Reddit thread flagged a burst of sales on the OP05 Law manga alt. The set math behind it: a $1,055.89 box, 231% one-year CAGR and a Law print up 9.7% in 30 days.
A collector on r/ONEPIECETCG flagged what looked like an unusual cluster of sales on the OP05 Law alternate art and asked the obvious question: organic demand, or someone leaning on the market. We cannot see order books, but we can see the tape. Trafalgar Law (069) (Alternate Art) (Manga) sits at $1,700.58, flat on the week, up 9.7% over 30 days, and that price is also its all-time high.

OP05, the set that charges $1,055.89 a box
The chatter is really about a set, not one card. An OP05 box last traded at $1,055.89 against a $107.76 MSRP, a 9.8x multiple on the sticker price. Annualized from release, that is 124% from MSRP, and the trailing one-year CAGR on OP05 is 231%.
The near term is less flattering: the three-month CAGR reads -33%. Thirty-four months after release, this is a product whose price is set by secondary scarcity and a handful of chase cards, not by sealed supply.
Inside the box
Rip EV on OP05 is $148 against that $1,055.89 box, an ev_ratio of 0.14. Every sealed product in this hobby is negative EV by design, so a ratio under 1 is normal; 0.14 simply says the box is priced as a collectible, not as a lottery ticket. Cost per pack works out to $44.
The top of the card list explains where the value concentrates.
The Luffy manga alt is flat on both the 7-day and 30-day windows and still $400 below its $6,100 all-time high. Law moving while the headliner does not is the detail that got the thread going.
The graded side
OP05 has 48,307 cards in PSA's population with an 89% gem rate, and graded copies carry a 2.5x premium to raw across the set. That implies roughly 298,080 boxes already opened, which is a lot of paper for a product still asking four figures sealed.
Law specifically shows 1,035 PSA entries at an 88% gem rate. A PSA 10 runs $2,000, a 1.2x multiple on raw, the thinnest grading spread among the set's chase cards. By contrast the Luffy manga alt's PSA 10 is $15,100, a 2.6x multiple. When the graded premium is that small, raw buyers and graded buyers are effectively competing in the same pool, which makes a short burst of sales move the print faster.
Long-term read
OP05 carries a Long-Term Score of 8 out of 10, labeled Strong hold. The inputs are legible: a 9.8x MSRP multiple, 231% trailing one-year growth, a deep chase lineup topped by two cards near $5,000, and a high gem rate that keeps graded supply predictable.
The offset is the -33% three-month figure and the sheer volume of boxes already opened. As for whether the Law sales were coordinated, the data cannot say. What it can say is that a card printing a fresh all-time high on a 9.7% monthly move inside a set at the top of our score table is not, on its face, an anomaly. Run the comparison yourself on the screener or check sealed math on the EV page.
