A community thread about Nefeltari Vivi OP05-086 turning up in Japanese sends us back to the OP05 tape: box price, rip EV, pop counts and a Strong hold score.
OP05: 35 months old, 9.1 times MSRP
A sealed OP05 box trades at $982.04 against an original MSRP of $107.76. That is 9.1 times issue price, or 115% annualized from MSRP across 35 months on shelf. The one year figure is hotter still at 174%, while the three month trend reads negative 53%, which is the whiplash collectors have come to expect from aged Romance Dawn era printings.

The reason OP05 is back in conversation is a thread on r/ONEPIECETCG, where a collector flagged a Japanese printing of Nefeltari Vivi (OP05-086) and asked whether that card was not supposed to be a region-restricted release. Print region questions rarely move a common. This one coincided with the base OP05 Vivi printing up 25% on the week to $0.35, with a 30 day gain of 20.7% and an all time high of $0.39. In absolute terms, that is noise. In percentage terms, it is one of the louder weeks a bulk R has had.
The promo siblings tell the other half of the story. The Welcome Pack Vol. 2 version sits at $3.04, down 1.6% on the week, while the October Championship 2024 Store Regionals Vivi is flat at $2,100, which is also its all time high. Same card number, three very different markets.
Inside the box
Rip EV on OP05 is $144 against that $982.04 box, an EV ratio of 0.15. Every sealed product is negative EV by design, so a sub-1 reading is normal, but 0.15 is deep in collector territory rather than opener territory: you are paying for the sealed object and the lottery ticket, not for the expected pull. For comparison, current EV leaders run closer to 0.77 at the top.
The top of the chase list is where the EV concentration lives, and it is concentrated badly.
The graded side
PSA has logged 48,307 OP05 cards with an 89% gem rate, and graded copies carry a 2.4 times premium over raw. That pop total implies roughly 298,080 boxes already opened, which is the number that matters most for the sealed thesis: the print was enormous and a lot of it is already paper.
Vivi herself is barely represented. The base printing shows a population of 60 with an 87% gem rate, and a PSA 10 marks at $31, an 88.6 times multiple over the raw card. The championship version grades to $3,563.07, a mere 1.7 times its raw price, which is what happens when the raw card is already expensive.
Long-term read
OP05 carries a Long-Term Score of 8 out of 10, labelled Strong hold. The drivers are visible on the chart above and in the figures: a high MSRP multiple, a 174% one year annualized return, and chase cards that clear four figures. The drag is equally visible, namely that negative 53% three month trend and the sheer volume of opened product tracked on the destruction data.
Print region trivia on a 35 cent common does not change any of that. It does explain why a card nobody tracks suddenly looks like a mover on the screener this week.
