What surfaced
A thread on r/ONEPIECETCG this weekend asked a question that gets asked every time Bandai runs a limited window: how do you actually improve your odds of landing 4th anniversary items on Premium Bandai? The poster reported going nearly empty-handed across the anniversary lineup, securing only the meat Luffy item and missing the rest.
There is no trick answer, and that is the point. Premium Bandai anniversary drops are allocation-limited, order-window products. When the window closes, the marginal buyer does not disappear. They move to the secondary market, and that is where our tape picks them up.
The anniversary read on our data
We have no direct market rows for the 4th anniversary merchandise itself, so the honest proxy is the anniversary-stamped card inventory that already trades. The clearest one this week is the OP05ANN printing of Trafalgar Law, which flagged as a whale sighting at $130.51 on a 38.8% move, severity seaking.
That is the pattern worth watching: anniversary-coded product does not get restocked, so demand deferred by a failed order window tends to show up as a step change in secondary pricing rather than a slow grind. One card is not a trend, but it is the only anniversary-labeled row on our board right now, and it moved up, not down.
This week's movers, for context
The rest of the tape is doing something entirely unrelated to anniversary allocation, and it is loud.
| Card | Set | Price | 7d |
|---|---|---|---|
| Edward.Newgate (005) (Manga) | OP17 | $1,197.71 | +956.8% |
| Belo Betty (002) (Alternate Art) | OP05 | $42.21 | +76.2% |
| Miss Doublefinger(Zala) (Full Art) | PRB01 | $27.66 | +71.7% |
| Marshall.D.Teach (119) | OP16 | $32.82 | +62.6% |
On the other side, Shanks (OP13-028) (SP) gave back 35.2% to $267.89 and Edward.Newgate (040) (TR) fell 32.4% to $52.18. Both are OP17 rows, which tells you the newest set is still price-discovering in both directions rather than settling.
The steepest single decline was Tony Tony.Chopper out of ST01PRE, off 45% to $28.41. Notably, other Chopper prints went the other way: the EB02 SP flagged at $4,174.22 on a 31.8% move, and the 2024 Offline Regional finalist promo printed $699.97 on 23.5%.
If you missed the window
The alternative to chasing allocation is opening product, and there the math is not subtle. OP15 leads our box EV board at a 9.76 ratio, with a $250.62 box market against $421 and $2,445 figures respectively across the top two sets: OP15 shows $2,445 of expected value, while OP17 sits at $421 EV on a $323.85 box for a 1.30 ratio. Everything below that is under 1.00, including OP11 at 0.71 and PRB02 at 0.68. Full board lives on the EV page.
The Terminal take
Allocation frustration is a demand print, not a pricing event, and our board reflects that: the single anniversary-coded row we track is the OP05ANN Law at $130.51, up 38.8%. Meanwhile the actual volatility this week is concentrated in OP17, where a manga-art Newgate at $1,197.71 and a 35.2% drawdown in the Shanks SP coexist in the same set. Whatever the anniversary window does to sealed merch scarcity, the tape is currently being driven by something else entirely.
