What happened
Bandai Card Games published the promotional trailer for the next One Piece Card Game booster, THE DOMINANCE OF GOD [OP-18], on August 24. It is the standard pre-release beat: a short video reveal ahead of the set's product page filling out with card lists and preview waves.
The OP18 set page on the Terminal currently carries no box market price, no expected value, and no EV ratio. That is normal for a set at trailer stage. There are no secondary listings to average, so any number you see quoted elsewhere this week is somebody's guess rather than a print.
The data that actually matters right now
The interesting part of an OP-18 announcement is what it does to the set in front of it. OP17 sits at the top of our box EV table, and by a wide margin.
| Set | Box market | Box EV | EV ratio |
|---|---|---|---|
| OP17 | $404.40 | $609 | 1.51 |
| OP15 | $255.37 | $202 | 0.79 |
| OP14 | $264.25 | $189 | 0.71 |
| OP11 | $632.38 | $439 | 0.69 |
| PRB02 | $393.01 | $267 | 0.68 |
An EV ratio of 1.51 is an outlier against a field where nothing else clears 0.79. Full methodology and the live table are on the EV page.
The catch is that OP17's EV is carried by a small number of very expensive singles, and those singles just moved hard in the wrong direction. Rocks.D.Xebec (039) (Alternate Art) is at $143.22, down 50.4 percent over seven days. Monkey.D.Luffy (079) (Alternate Art) is at $144.72, down 50.1 percent. Those are the two largest weekly losers in our set. An EV number built on prices falling that fast should be read as a snapshot, not a forecast.
Where money went instead
The upside this week clustered in older product and anniversary printings, not in current-set chase cards. Mary Geoise (Alternate Art) from PRB02 is up 292.6 percent to $24.93, and it also trips our whale detector with a 300.2 percent move flagged at seaking severity. Jinbe from OP05ANN is at $31.25, up 58.1 percent, likewise flagged. Sabo (004) (Alternate Art) added 47 percent to $47.55.
Gold DON!! cards were the quieter, heavier story. DON!! Card (Donquixote Doflamingo) (Gold) sits at $183.49 on a 22.8 percent move, and DON!! Card (Sabo) (Gold) at $122.54 on 20.9 percent.
On the downside, anniversary promos gave back gains: Sabo (120) (English Version 3rd Anniversary Set) is at $67.79, off 35.2 percent, and Portgas.D.Ace (119) (English Version 3rd Anniversary Set) at $71.92, off 28.1 percent.
The Terminal take
A trailer moves attention, not prices, and OP-18 has no market data to speak of yet. What is measurable is that the set it succeeds is carrying a 1.51 EV ratio while its two flagship alt arts each shed roughly half their value in a week, and that this week's biggest percentage gains came from PRB02, OP05ANN and OP13 singles priced under $50. Sealed EV that leans on volatile top-end singles gets revised fast, in both directions.
