The event
Bandai Card Games has confirmed that the next main booster, THE WORLD'S STRONGEST WARRIORS, catalogued as OP-17, is scheduled to arrive this month. That is the whole of the announcement: a release window, a title, and a product code. No numbers attached, which is where our data comes in.
The useful part for anyone tracking sealed is that OP17 already has a live box market before the general release. As of 2026-08-03, a box prints at $432.26, while the expected value of the singles inside sits at $260. That is an EV ratio of 0.60.
Pre-release sealed is priced like pre-release sealed
A 0.60 ratio means the market is paying roughly a two thirds premium over the modelled contents. That is normal behaviour for a set that has not fully hit shelves: supply is thin, singles pricing is built on early and incomplete data, and hype is doing part of the work.
For context, here is where OP17 sits against the current sealed EV leaderboard on our EV page:
| Set | Box market | Box EV | EV ratio |
|---|---|---|---|
| OP15 | $250.26 | $234 | 0.94 |
| OP14 | $270.59 | $198 | 0.73 |
| PRB02 | $394.32 | $287 | 0.73 |
| OP16 | $204.62 | $137 | 0.67 |
| EB03 | $325.19 | $208 | 0.64 |
| OP17 | $432.26 | $260 | 0.60 |
OP17 is both the most expensive box on that list and the worst ratio on it. OP15 at 0.94 is the closest thing the market currently offers to parity. The gap between OP17's $432.26 and OP16's $204.62 is the clearest single expression of what a release window does to sealed pricing.
The singles tape around the launch
The rest of the board is busy in ways that have nothing to do with OP17, which matters because launch weeks tend to pull liquidity out of older product. Promos are taking the hit hardest. Nami (Round 1 Promo) is down 40.6% on the week to $143.08, with Nico Robin (Round 1 Promo) off 39.5% to $115.04 and Monkey.D.Luffy (Gift Collection 2023) down 32.2% to $130.25.
On the other side, Monkey.D.Luffy (033) from OP07 leads gainers at plus 116% to $69.38, and Charlotte Pudding - PRB02-010 is up 104.6% to $29.11. PRB02 is quietly doing double duty here: it holds a 0.73 sealed ratio at a $394.32 box while producing the week's second best single.
At the top of the market, the whale tape stayed active. Tony Tony.Chopper (SP) moved 10.9% to $3,165.98, Marshall.D.Teach (Manga) added 14.3% to $1,999.99, and Portgas.D.Ace (Super Alternate Art) slipped 11.8% to $1,085.64.
The Terminal take
OP17 currently carries the highest box price and the lowest EV ratio of any set we track at 0.60, which is exactly the profile a set wears before its singles market has been stress tested by volume. The reference point to watch is OP15 at 0.94: that is what a set looks like once supply and pricing have settled. Whether OP17 converges toward that number depends on print volume and on which chase cards clear, and neither is knowable from an August release note.
