What surfaced

A thread on r/ONEPIECETCG this week put Red Green Oden back on the table, with the poster asking for reads on the archetype as OP17 approaches release. It is deckbuilding chatter rather than a spoiler drop, but it is the kind of chatter that reliably precedes singles demand: players dust off shelved lists, check what the new set does to them, and start filling holes before the print run stabilizes.

We have no Oden-specific rows in this week's mover data, so treat the archetype talk as sentiment, not signal. What we can price is the set everyone is waiting on.

OP17's sealed math is the weakest of the block

OP17 currently carries a box market price of $395.34 against a computed expected value of $260. That is an EV ratio of 0.66, the lowest among the five sets on our board.

Set Box market EV Ratio
OP15 $251.10 $228 0.91
OP14 $266.10 $196 0.74
PRB02 $394.09 $283 0.72
OP17 $395.34 $260 0.66
OP16 $208.71 $133 0.64

The pattern is familiar: pre-release and early-release boxes price on anticipation, and the EV ratio compresses until supply catches up. OP15 at 0.91 is what a settled set looks like. OP17 at $395.34 is what a set looks like when nobody has cracked enough of it yet. Full board lives on the EV page.

For a player rebuilding a Red Green list, that gap matters mostly as a reminder that sealed is the expensive route into a specific card right now.

This week's movers

The seven-day tape was violent in both directions and had nothing to do with OP17. On the upside, Monkey.D.Luffy (033) from OP07PRE ran 116% to $69.38, the largest single gain on the board. Charlotte Pudding added 63.4% to $20.37, and the Pirates League Store Qualifier promo When You're at Sea You Fight against Pirates!! gained 57.1% to $51.97.

Green-adjacent collectors will note San-Gorou up 44% to $54.05 and Nami (033) up 54.8% to $50.17.

The Round 1 promo complex went the other way, hard. Monkey.D.Luffy (Round 1 Promo) fell 60.9% to $201.17, Nico Robin dropped 60.7% to $74.41, and Nami (Round 1 Promo) lost 56.2% to $105.56. That is what initial-listing price discovery looks like once supply meets the order book.

At the top of the market, the whale board stayed green: Sabo (SP) at $1,125 after an 18.4% move, and Monkey.D.Luffy (Offline Regional 2024 Vol. 3) Finalist at $961.59 on 32.3%.

The Terminal take

Archetype revival threads are a leading indicator for singles, not for sealed, and the OP17 numbers say the same thing from the other side: a 0.66 ratio against $395.34 per box means the market is charging a premium for access to an unopened set. Meanwhile the 116% single-card gains and 60.9% promo declines in the same seven days are a reminder that liquidity, not lore, sets these prices.
