The event
A thread on r/ONEPIECETCG this week described what the poster believes is the last OP17 sleeve restock they will see at their local store, stumbled into by chance rather than tracked. The wrinkle in the story is that the other shopper working the same shelf had no idea what One Piece TCG was and treated it as an unremarkable midweek errand.
It is an anecdote, not a supply report. But accessory restocks are a decent proxy for where a set sits in the distribution cycle: when the sleeves and boxes stop cycling through mass retail, the set has moved from "current" to "secondary market only." And the OP17 numbers on our board suggest that transition is already underway.
What the tape says
OP17 sealed is the single most favorable box on our expected value screen. Market price sits at $328.41 against a modelled EV of $426, an EV ratio of 1.30. Nothing else on the leaderboard clears 1.00.
| Set | Box market | Box EV | EV ratio |
|---|---|---|---|
| OP17 | $328.41 | $426 | 1.30 |
| OP15 | $245.83 | $202 | 0.82 |
| OP11 | $618.32 | $441 | 0.71 |
| OP14 | $264.41 | $184 | 0.70 |
| PRB02 | $391.00 | $266 | 0.68 |
That ratio is doing a lot of work off the top end. Rocks.D.Xebec (118) (Super Alternate Art) prints at $7,899.50, Monkey.D.Luffy (079) (Super Leader Alternate Art) at $1,996.94, and Shanks (022) (Manga) at $1,484.46. Three cards, all effectively lottery tickets, all propping up the average pack.
The other side of OP17
Underneath those chase slots, the set is in free fall. Every one of this week's five worst 7-day performers is an OP17 card.
Kaido (058) (Alternate Art) is down 66.8% to $39.27. Charlotte Linlin (099) (Alternate Art) fell 64.9% to $21.10, Edward.Newgate (040) (TR) 64.8% to $56.75, Charlotte Linlin (049) (Alternate Art) 61.9% to $20.19, and Rocks.D.Xebec (039) (Alternate Art) 57.8% to $56.30.
That is the textbook shape of a set being opened hard: mid-tier alt arts get flooded, the SEC and Leader slots hold the value, and box EV stays elevated on the strength of a few outcomes rather than a broad floor. Sealed scarcity at retail and falling singles prices are not contradictory here, they are the same event viewed from two shelves.
Where the money actually moved
For contrast, the 7-day gainers list has almost nothing to do with new product. Charlotte Pudding (Alternate Art) is up 65.2% to $37.45, Uta up 37.4% to $21.69, and on the whale board San-Gorou (Treasure Cup 2025) added 31% to $949.88. Promos and staples, not fresh set singles.
The Terminal take
A single store's shelf tells you nothing about global supply, but it rhymes with the data: OP17 is the only set on our EV screen trading below model, and its mid-rarity singles are the deepest losers on the board. That is what a set looks like when the opening wave is still in progress and the retail pipeline behind it is drying up. Watch whether the sub-$60 alt arts find a floor before the sealed premium normalizes.
