The event

A thread on r/ONEPIECETCG this week put OP16.5 gameplay back on the community radar, specifically a Mihawk-centered list being watched in play. It is a discussion post, not an official announcement: no product news, no ban list, no reprint. Treat it as sentiment, because that is exactly what it is.

Our database does not yet carry pricing rows tagged to the half-set, so the tradeable read has to come from the block that surrounds it. That means OP16, and OP16 is where the week's price action already lives.

What the tape says

Four of the five largest seven-day gainers in the entire market are OP16 cards. That is unusual concentration for a set that is not currently the subject of a product release, and it suggests attention rather than supply shock is doing the work.

Card No. Price 7d
Edward.Newgate (Alternate Art) OP16-003 $42.55 +83.9%
Portgas.D.Ace (001) (Alternate Art) OP16-001 $69.57 +67.4%
Portgas.D.Ace (118) (Alternate Art) OP16-118 $41.52 +51.3%
Vista (TR) OP16-011 $32.26 +50.8%

The fifth name on the gainer board is Sabo (004) (Alternate Art) from OP13 at $27.18, up 50%. Our whale monitor flags the same card at a 42.4% move, which is a reminder that a single large fill can carry a thin listing pool a long way.

The chase layer has not moved with it

The expensive end of OP16 sits well above the cards doing the running. Sakazuki (Manga) prints at $1,212.02, Kuzan (Manga) at $1,154.14, and Borsalino (Manga) at $1,043.28. None of those are on the weekly movers board, which is the usual pattern: playable alternate arts react to gameplay chatter first, four-figure manga variants react to nothing on a one-week horizon.

Sealed math

OP16 boxes trade at $210.17 against an expected value of $139, an EV ratio of 0.66. That is below the current leader board, where OP17 sits at a 3.09 ratio on a $331.80 box against $1,024 of EV, and behind OP15 at 0.80 on a $263.79 box. Full rankings are on the EV page.

In other words, the singles are where OP16 demand is expressing itself. Ripping product to chase it costs a 0.66 ratio.

The other side of the ledger

Promos took the week's damage. Tony Tony.Chopper (Round 1 Promo) fell 28% to $60.10, Monkey.D.Luffy (Gen Con 2023) fell 25.7% to $110.94, and Nico Robin (Judge Pack Vol. 4) also fell 25.7% to $26.50. Capital rotating from event promos toward current-block playables is a familiar shape when a new format conversation starts.

The Terminal take

A Reddit gameplay thread is not a catalyst, but the OP16 gainer cluster is real and it is broad: four cards, all alternate art or TR, all between +50.8% and +83.9%. The tell will be whether the $1,000-plus manga tier follows, because that is when a format story becomes a set-wide repricing rather than a playable-driven pop. Right now the sealed ratio of 0.66 says the market is paying for specific cards, not for OP16 packs.
