EB05 Set Check: A Gecko Moria Combo Lands Before the Set Has a Price

A community-surfaced EB05 Gecko Moria line has players theorycrafting, but the set itself still has no box market, no pop report and a Long-Term Score of 0.

A player posting to r/ONEPIECETCG on October 9 laid out a Gecko Moria combo built around EB05, flagging it as a locals-and-simulator curiosity rather than a tournament plan, since an opponent who simply declines to attack turns the whole sequence off. That is an honest read of a combo deck. It is also the first real signal we have on a set that, as of today, has no secondary market at all.

EB05 and its one real number

Our release counter for EB05 reads -1 months, which is the polite way of saying the product is not out. There is no box market price, no EV figure, no three-month or one-year CAGR, and therefore no return against MSRP to quote. What exists is the sticker: $119.76, which works out to $15.06 per pack at the three-pack multiple we have on file.

That is the entire dataset. Combo discourse always runs ahead of price discovery, and EB05 is a textbook case: the deck ideas are liquid, the cards are not.

Inside the box

With no EV for EB05 to publish, the useful frame is what mature boxes actually return. Every sealed product on our EV page prints below its market price, because the margin is the price of the lottery ticket. Here are the current leaders:

Set Box market Rip EV Ratio
OP11 $566.03 $429 0.76
OP15 $256.59 $184 0.72
OP14 $267.77 $182 0.68
PRB02 $377.69 $245 0.65
EB03 $323.19 $187 0.58

The nearest structural comparable is EB03, the most recent extra booster with a settled market, and it sits at a 0.58 ratio, the weakest of the five. Extra boosters are small sets with concentrated chase hits, which tends to produce exactly that shape: a handful of expensive cards and a long tail that carries nothing. Whether EB05 lands closer to that or to the 0.76 at the top of the table is unknowable until packs are open and the screener has prices to rank.

The graded side

PSA population for EB05 is zero. Not thin, not early, zero. There is no gem rate, no graded premium multiple, and no estimated boxes opened on our destruction tracker. Any claim about EB05 centering or print quality right now is vibes.

Long-term read

EB05 scores 0 out of 10 on our Long-Term Score, labeled Unproven. That is not a verdict on the set, it is a statement that the model has nothing to chew on: no price history, no graded supply, no evidence of how much product gets opened versus stored.

For contrast, the cards actually moving this week are all ones with years of tape behind them. Marshall.D.Teach (Online Regional 2023) [Finalist] is up 45.4% to $199.99, and Silvers Rayleigh (Alternate Art) added 47.5% to $26.95. On the other side, Monkey.D.Luffy (4th Anniversary) (Winner) gave back 31.2% to $184.20. Thin promo supply cuts both ways.

The Moria line is a fun piece of prerelease theorycrafting and nothing more until EB05 prints a market price. Check back when the chart above has something on it.
