A deckbuilding request on r/ONEPIECETCG sends us back to ST04, where the leader costs $2.41 and a graded King carries a 146.8x multiple.
ST04 and its $2.41 anchor
A player surfaced a request on r/ONEPIECETCG this week: build something around the Kaido starter for an Extra Regulation event, and no idea where to start. Extra Regulation formats pull old product back into rotation, which is usually when a dormant starter deck's singles wake up. Not this time. The card above, Kaido (001), sits at $2.41 and is down 2.4% on the week.
> $2.41 · the current price of the ST04 Kaido leader
The 90-day chart tells the story more clearly than the weekly print does. The leader is off 4% over 30 days and still short of its $2.86 all-time high. Community interest in a deck shell and actual demand for its parts are different things, and the tape has not yet confirmed the former.
Inside the deck
ST04 is a starter product, so there is no booster box price, no rip EV, and no MSRP multiple on file for it. That removes the usual sealed math entirely. What is left is the singles ladder, and it is short.
The leader is worth more than the next four cards on the list individually, and by a wide margin. That is typical for a starter deck whose contents were reprinted into irrelevance by later Purple and Black sets. Lead Performer "Disaster" is flat on the week and down 11.1% over 30 days, with an all-time high of $0.46.
The graded side
The one strange line in ST04 is King. Raw, it is a $0.48 super rare that is down 4% on the week but up 4.3% over 30 days, with an all-time high of $0.55. In a PSA 10 holder, it prints at $70.46.
That is a 146.8x graded multiple, one of the steeper spreads on any starter deck card we track. Population data for the card is not in our set, so treat the multiple as a function of grading cost and scarcity of submissions rather than evidence of collector depth. Nobody grades a 48 cent common at scale, which is exactly why the few slabs clear where they do.
Long-term read
We do not carry a Long-Term Score for ST04, and the reason is structural: starter decks have no sealed EV, no pack economics, and no print-run scarcity story once reprints land. Their value lives or dies on whether a leader stays legal and playable.
Extra Regulation chatter is a real catalyst for that kind of card, but the current numbers show none of it yet. Compare with where money actually moved this week: Rob Lucci (Alternate Art) at $21.56 after a 222.8% run, and Trafalgar Law - OP14-001 (Alternate Art) at $36.24, up 64.9%. Alt art speculation is absorbing the week's flow, not two dollar starter leaders.
If ST04 is going to move, it moves when Extra Regulation results appear, not when a thread asks for help. Track the singles on the screener and sealed math on the EV page.
