OP18 Set Check: A $359 Box Before Anyone Has Opened One

A Vivi deckbuilding thread on r/ONEPIECETCG put OP18 and EB05 back in frame, so here is what the presale tape says about a set with zero history.

OP18, the set priced at 3x MSRP with zero cards in circulation

A deckbuilding question surfaced on r/ONEPIECETCG this weekend: a French-speaking player asking for a core Vivi list built in anticipation of the support arriving across EB05, OP18 and the upcoming starter decks. That is a reasonable thing to ask a month out. It is also a reminder that OP18 already has a sealed price despite a release date that has not arrived.

> $359.19 · OP18 box presale price, three times its listed MSRP

The box sits at that number against an MSRP of $119.76. Our months-since-release field reads -1, which is the database being literal: the product is not out. There is no 3-month or 1-year CAGR, no return from MSRP, nothing annualized. What exists is a presale market and a list of preliminary card prices, and both are being set by expectation rather than by supply.

Inside the box

Estimated rip value is $260 against that box price, an EV ratio of 0.72. Before anyone reads that as a verdict: every sealed box in this hobby is negative EV by design, and a ratio under 1 is the normal state of the world. The useful comparison is relative. Our current EV leaders run from OP11 at 0.76 down to EB03 at 0.58, so OP18 lands mid-pack, roughly where OP14 sits at 0.72.

The singles side is thin and top-heavy, which is typical for a set this early in price discovery.

Card Number Price
Nico Robin OP18-031 $29.99
Saint Gunko OP18-060 $9.99
Monkey.D.Luffy (022) OP18-022 $9.99

The Robin SR is the only card clearing $10, and it is sitting exactly at its all-time high because its all-time high is also its first recorded price. Same story for the two Leaders at $9.99 each. Seven-day change on all three reads 0.0%, which means no trades have moved the line, not that the market has decided anything.

Cost per pack works out to $14.97 at the current box price. EB05 is in a similar pre-release limbo with no box market quoted yet and a per-pack figure of $14.85, which is the only hard number we have on it.

The graded side

There is nothing here, and that is the point. Total PSA population across OP18 is 0. No gem rate, no graded premium multiple, no estimate of boxes already opened. Every slab-driven metric we normally lean on for a set check is blank, so the destruction model has nothing to chew on either.

For a reader trying to price Vivi support before it exists, that absence matters more than the EV ratio does. There is no secondary float, no grading pipeline, no evidence of how many cases will actually get cracked.

Long-term read

Our Long-Term Score for OP18 is 0 out of 10, labelled Unproven. That is not a criticism of the set. It is the model refusing to score something with no price history, no population data and no realized returns. EB05 carries the identical 0 and the identical label for the identical reason.

What the community thread does tell us is that demand interest is forming early, and early interest is what drags presale box prices to a 3x multiple over MSRP. Whether the cards justify it is a question the chart above cannot answer yet, because the chart has barely started. Check the screener again once packs are in hands and the first real prints hit the tape.
