A Reddit thread about teching against the unreleased OP18 Luffy leader is a good excuse to check what the set itself is priced at: 3x MSRP, zero graded copies, nothing proven.
A thread on r/ONEPIECETCG this week asked a question nobody can answer yet: what beats the OP18 Luffy leader once it is legal. The card is not out. No tournament has been played with it. And yet sealed OP18 is already trading at three times what Bandai asks for it, which tells you the market has made its own guess about the set's ceiling.

OP18 at 3x MSRP, before the set exists
OP18 is still roughly two months from release, and the sealed tape is already quoting a 3x multiple over MSRP. That works out to $15.14 per pack for product that has never been cracked, never been graded, and never been tested in a competitive format.
There is no annualized return to quote here. A set that has not shipped has no price history, so every CAGR field on the page is blank. What you are looking at on the chart is a preorder market pricing in hype, not performance.
Inside the box
Rip EV on OP18 sits at $260 against that $363.31 box, an EV ratio of 0.72. Before anyone calls that a scam: every sealed box in this game is negative EV by design. Bandai prices packs so the house wins on average, and a ratio under 1 is the normal state of the world, not an anomaly.
What 0.72 means in practice is that the singles market currently supports about seventy-two cents of expected card value per dollar of box. That ratio is also the least trustworthy number on this page right now, because the singles it is built from are preorder quotes on cards with no circulating supply.
That is the whole chase list at the moment: one SR at $29.99 and two leaders at $9.99 each, including the Luffy the Reddit thread is worried about. All three are sitting at their all-time highs, which is trivially true for cards that have only ever had one price.
The graded side
PSA population for OP18 is zero. Not low, zero. There is no gem rate, no graded premium multiple, and no estimate of boxes opened, because no boxes have been opened.
That means the usual grading math, the part where you weigh a PSA 10 multiple against submission costs, simply does not apply yet. Check the destruction tracker again once the set is a few weeks old and copies start entering the population.
Long-term read
OP18 carries a Long-Term Score of 0 out of 10, labeled Unproven. That is not a verdict on the set, it is the absence of one. The score is driven by price history, graded population, and realized returns, and OP18 has none of the three.
For context on why a leader rumor can move a market, look at Monkey.D.Luffy (119) from OP05, up 164.8% on the week to $25.63, with the PRB01 reprint up 101.9% alongside it. Metagame speculation prices cards long before results confirm anything, in both directions.
The honest read on the Reddit question is that tech choices against an unreleased leader are guesswork, and the $9.99 tag on that leader reflects exactly that uncertainty. If you want sets with actual numbers behind them, the EV board and the screener have plenty.
