OP18 and the 2.9x problem

A new Monkey D. Luffy card numbered OP18-118 surfaced on r/ONEPIECETCG this week, ahead of the set's English release on November 20, 2026. Our database does not price that number yet, because nothing from it has traded. What has a price is the box it will come in: OP18 sealed is marked at $348.71 against a $119.76 MSRP for 24 packs, a multiple of 2.9 before a single pack is legally open.

> $348.71 · what a sealed OP18 box fetches before release day

There is no annualized return to quote here, and anyone quoting one is making it up. Months since release reads as negative one on the set page. CAGR from MSRP, three month and one year, is all null. The only honest framing for a preorder-phase set is the spread between the sticker and the street, and that spread currently implies a blended cost of $14.53 per pack against a $4.99 list price.

Inside the box

Rip EV on OP18 sits at $260 against that $348.71 box market, an EV ratio of 0.75. That is not an indictment. Every sealed product in this game is negative EV by design, because the distributor takes a margin and the singles market prices the aggregate below the box. A 0.75 ratio puts OP18 roughly in line with OP14 at 0.75 and ahead of OP15 at 0.69. The outlier on our EV page remains EB05 at 2.72, which is a reprint-set artifact, not a template.

The singles ladder is thin and early, which is what you would expect from placeholder listings and preorder singles rather than real circulation.

Card Number Price
Nico Robin OP18-031 $29.99
Saint Gunko OP18-060 $9.99
Monkey.D.Luffy (022) OP18-022 $9.99
Monkey.D.Luffy (016) OP18-016 $4.99
Shark Submerge 3 OP18-076 $3.99

Note the shape of that list. One card at $29.99 carries the top of the board, and the two tracked Luffy entries are both leaders priced at $9.99 and $4.99. Seven and thirty day changes on all three top names are flat at 0 percent, which is the signature of listings that exist but have not been tested by a real bid.

The graded side

PSA population for OP18 is zero. Gem rate, graded premium multiple and estimated boxes opened are all unavailable, for the obvious reason that no boxes have been opened. Those fields are the backbone of our destruction model, and they will stay blank until product is in hands and submissions clear. Any "PSA 10 comp" circulating for an OP18-118 Luffy right now is fiction.

Long-term read

The Long-Term Score for OP18 is 0 out of 10, labeled Unproven. That is a data state, not a verdict. The score is driven by release history, realized CAGR and graded supply, and OP18 has none of the three. It will populate over the months after launch, and the first honest print comes from post-release singles, not from preorder marks.

What the reveal does tell you is that Luffy headline cards keep pulling capital in this market. Our seven day tape has the Store Championship Trophy Luffy at $1,300 after an 83.6 percent move, while the Winner Pack Vol. 5 Luffy went the other direction to $35.65, down 31.6 percent. Same character, opposite weeks. Release dates and live sealed marks sit on our pre-orders page; the rest of the board is on the screener.
