A community thread asking whether EB05's Nico Robin has a meta home lands on a set with a $352.47 box, a 0.91 EV ratio and zero graded population.
A thread on r/ONEPIECETCG asked the only question that matters for a brand new chase card: does EB05's Nico Robin actually have a deck to live in? The market has already voted with a number, even if the metagame has not. The card above sits at $29.99, which is simultaneously its current price and its all-time high, because the set is zero months old and there is no history behind it yet.

EB05 and the 2.9x problem
A sealed EB05 box trades at $352.47 against an MSRP of $119.76. That is a 2.9x multiple before the set has had a single month on shelves, which puts the effective cost per pack at $14.69. Annualized return figures are not computable here: with zero months since release, there is no window to annualize.
That multiple is the frame for everything else. Every price discussed below is being set by openers paying nearly three times sticker to find cards, not by a settled secondary market.
Inside the box
Rip expected value lands at $321 against that box price, an EV ratio of 0.91. Every box in this hobby is negative EV by design, so a ratio under 1 is normal and not a scandal. What 0.91 says is that EB05 is currently among the tighter spreads you will find, which usually happens when a set is fresh and singles have not yet been crushed by supply.
For comparison, the leaders on our EV page run from 0.76 at the top down to 0.59. EB05 sits above all of them for now. Expect that to compress as more product opens.
The structure is top heavy and then flat. The SR Robin and Alvida at $24.99 carry the box, and the drop to $9.99 for the Leader Robin and $5.99 for the next tier is steep. A set with two load-bearing cards is a set where one meta result can move the whole EV line.
The graded side
PSA population for EB05 is zero. No gem rate, no graded premium multiple, no estimated boxes opened. That is exactly what a set at month zero should look like, and it means anyone pricing a slab right now is pricing a guess rather than a population curve.
It also means the Robin chart you see above is raw-only. There is no graded floor underneath it to cushion a correction if the deck the thread is speculating about never materializes. Check the destruction tracker in a few months once submissions start clearing.
Long-term read
Our Long-Term Score for EB05 is 0 out of 10, labelled Unproven. That is not a verdict on quality. It is the mechanical result of having no CAGR history, no graded population and no reprint record to score against. Sets earn points by surviving time, and EB05 has had none.
What would change it: a sustained meta placement for the $29.99 Robin, a gem rate once PSA data lands, and whether that 0.91 EV ratio holds or slides toward the 0.59 to 0.76 band the older sets occupy. Until then the set is a one-card story with a second card at $24.99 tagging along. Run it through the screener in ninety days and it will be a different conversation.
