A Red Law deckbuilding thread put the EB05 format back in conversation. The sealed math behind it is early, thin, and scoring 2 out of 10.

EB05 at 2.5 times MSRP

A Red Law deckbuilding thread surfaced on r/ONEPIECETCG this week, with the poster asking experienced pilots how the list should be tuned for the EB05 format: ratios, tech slots, matchup plans. The competitive answer belongs to the grinders. The pricing answer is ours, and it starts here: EB05 sealed is trading at $294.43 per box against a $119.76 MSRP, a 2.5x multiple, which works out to $12.27 per pack at current market.

Annualized return is the part we cannot give you. The set sits at zero months since release, so there is no 3-month CAGR, no 1-year CAGR, and no from-MSRP annualized figure yet. The chart on this page covers a window the set has barely existed in.

Inside the box

Rip EV currently prints at $1,096 against that box price, an EV ratio of 3.72. Treat that with heavy suspicion. Every box is negative EV by design, and a ratio comfortably under 1 is the normal, healthy reading across the EV board. A number near 3.7 is not evidence that EB05 is unusually generous, it is evidence that the data is young: a handful of SP chase cards are carrying four-figure asks with very few completed sales behind them, and those asks drag expected value upward until the market fills in underneath.

Card Number Price
Nami (OP01-016) (SP) OP01-016 $2,975
Nico Robin (016) (SP) EB05-016 $2,975
Boa Hancock (ST17-004) (SP) ST17-004 $2,975
Charlotte Pudding (OP17-109) (SP) OP17-109 $1,975
Miss Buckingham Stussy (SP) EB05-006 $1,975

Three cards tied at the top at the same figure is itself a tell. That is a listing cluster, not a settled market. When real transaction volume arrives, the spread between those three will open up and the EV ratio will compress toward something recognizable.

The graded side

PSA population total for EB05: zero. No gem rate, no graded premium multiple, no estimate of boxes already opened. Nothing has come back from submission yet, which is expected for a set this fresh but means the usual supply-side checks are unavailable. The destruction tracker is where that picture will first appear.

One adjacent note for the Red Law crowd, since the thread is what brought us here. Trafalgar Law (CS 26-27 Event Pack) is the steepest faller on our seven-day board at $46.27, down 32.9%. A promo bleeding that hard while its archetype gets fresh deckbuilding attention is a mismatch worth logging, not a signal to act on.

Long-term read

EB05 carries a Long-Term Score of 2 out of 10, labeled Unproven. That is not a bearish verdict. The score is low because almost every input is missing: no price history to measure, no graded population to weigh, no annualized return, no reprint or format track record. Sets earn their way up that scale over months, and this one has had none.

What to watch over the next few prints: whether the $294.43 box holds as distributor allocations land, whether the SP tier separates from its current cluster, and whether the EV ratio falls back below 1 like everything else on the screener. Until then, the set is a hypothesis with a price tag.
