EB05, priced at 2.1x MSRP before a single box is counted

Reports that the One Piece heroines extra booster is arriving heavily allocated surfaced through the collector community this week, with shops flagging short allocations ahead of wide availability. The tape already agrees. A sealed EB05 box trades at $247.80 against a $119.76 MSRP, a multiple of 2.1, and the three-month annualized read on the set sits at -95%, which is what happens when a product with zero months of release history gets marked off a nearly empty price history. Treat that annualized figure as noise, not signal.

Inside the box

That $341 EV against the current box price gives an EV ratio of 1.37. Worth saying plainly: every sealed product is negative EV by design, and a ratio under 1 is the normal resting state. A number above 1 almost always means the singles market has not finished price discovery, and in a set this young, singles are being quoted off tiny sample sizes. Packs work out to $10.33 each at current box pricing.

The chase structure is top heavy and the prices are moving in both directions at once.

Card Number Price
Nami (055) (Kentaro Yabuki) (Gold Stamped) EB05-055 $1,399.09
Nico Robin (010) (Super Leader Alternate Art) EB05-010 $1,251.01
Boa Hancock (ST17-004) (SP) ST17-004 $734.28
Shirahoshi (Manga) EB05-014 $572.82
Nami (OP01-016) (SP) OP01-016 $479.49

The card above leads this week's gainers board at +599.6%, and it is printing at its all time high. The Robin super leader has already been higher, with an all time high of $1,500 against today's quote. Meanwhile the non-stamped siblings are collapsing: the standard Nami (055) (Kentaro Yabuki) is down 65% to $69.91, Nico Robin (010) (Heroine Leader) is off 61.5% to $53.15, and Yamato (Super Rare Alternate Art) has given back 70.9% to $39.58. That is the classic release-week pattern: preorder marks on commons deflate while the genuinely scarce parallels detach.

The graded side

There is nothing graded yet. PSA population for EB05 reads 0 across the board, no gem rate exists, and there is no estimate of boxes opened. The one number the model will quote is a graded premium multiple of 253.8, which is a modeled figure on a set with no submissions behind it, so it carries no weight until slabs actually return.

An allocated release changes the graded math in a specific way: fewer boxes opened in the first month means fewer raw copies hitting submission queues, which means populations stay thin longer and early slab prices are set by very few sales. The destruction tracker will be the place to watch that fill in.

Long-term read

EB05 scores 1 out of 10 on the Long-Term Score, labeled Unproven. That is not a verdict on the set, it is an arithmetic consequence of zero months since release: no population data, no gem rate, no multi-quarter price history, and a CAGR series too short to mean anything.

What the data does establish is that EB05 currently sits at the top of the box EV leaderboard with that 1.37 ratio, ahead of OP17 at 0.86 and OP11 at 0.77. Allocation keeps the sealed price elevated and keeps the singles sample thin, so expect both the EV ratio and the chart above to move hard as supply normalizes. Full comparisons are on the EV page and the screener.
